Jan Teunissen, realistisch / romantisch Kunstschilder. (realistic/romantic artpainter)
Jan Teunissen, born in 1949 in Veldhoven the Netherlands and has taken residence at Best (South Netherlands) since 1973 and commenced his painting carreer in 1983.
His preference is to paint in the realistic / romantic style, aspecially still life’s in the manner of the sixteenth and seventeenth century Dutch and Flemish old masters.
Jan creates his paintings nearly exclusively on board in a so-called glacis-technic. An old-fashioned technic of several transparant underlayers novici acrylic, finishing with several layers in oilpaint.
The genre of the artist is various. At first he was creating landscapes and farmerscenes only, and further in his career his interest went to exuberant flower-and other still life-paintings. In between he has added also portraits and animal-paintings.
The larger percentage of his arts are paintings in dimensions of "house chamber format". In many occassions the Work of the artist has exhibited and is ongoing.
